As you’re making your way through the various regions in Path of Exile 2, you’ll be gathering as much loot as possible to make your character as strong as possible.
But, there will come a time when you actually have too much gear and item requiring you to offload them.
Instead of simply tossing them on the ground, you can trade in Path of Exile 2 and here, we’ll take you through how to do this.
How to trade in Path of Exile 2Just like in the original game, PoE 2 utilizes a similar trading system that allows you to trade items both in-game and utilizing a specialized website.
Looking at the in-game trading first, to initiate a trade, you’ll need to go to their character, click on them, and hit the Trade option.
To make this simpler, you can always invite the person to your party so that either of you can teleport straight to them instead of simply roaming the lands to come together at some point.
Once you’ve initiated the trade, the other player must accept and you’ll be good to go.
A trading screen should now be in view and you’ll then be able to simply drag and drop any items you want to transfer to the other.
You will need to hover over the item(s) you’ll receive in the trade before accepting as this feature has been put in place to avoid any scamming. No more Runescape bait and switches happening here…
After both players are happy and each hit the Accept button, the exchange will take place.
Moving to the official PoE 2 trade site, this is more of a marketplace system where you can buy and sell items at will rather than meeting by chance in-game.
Here, you can search and filter for any items in the game so if you’re looking for something really specific, you can secure it in a pinch.
Once you’ve located what you want, you can then hit the Direct Whisper button to message the player selling it in-game, who should then invite you to their party so you can teleport to them.
After, you can just use the trading sequence we discussed earlier to get the deal done.
Unfortunately, if you want to sell via the website, you will need to have a Premium Stash Tab in order to list items.
This can be purchased via the in-game microtransactions store so it is a pretty simplistic process and then you can sell to your heart’s content!
