Someone needs to stop Satisfactory players, these factories are getting out of hand

DATE POSTED:December 3, 2024

Satisfactory has been out in some form or another for nearly five years, and 1.0 was released in September 2024. During this time, players have designed and built some formidable factories, from Gothic mansions to goliath factories built over thousands of hours. If you can imagine it, someone’s probably already built it in Satisfactory. Here are some of the most recent crazy Satisfactory builds that we’ve seen in the community forums:

Everywhere the light touches is our…factory?

This pioneer has vowed to cover every inch of the map in “metal and concrete” and, I won’t lie, I’m intimidated. In his screenshots, the factory spans as far as the eye can see, and fair play, the conveyor belts are neat and he’s got walkways across the whole thing. No spaghetti conveyors in sight! Can you even imagine the kind of beast PC that’s needed to run this save on more than 10 FPS?

It never ceases to amaze me that Satisfactory players are able to craft such architecturally impressive factories in this game. It’s one thing to have neat and tidy conveyors, it’s another thing entirely to build a multi-story masterpiece that houses all of the funny-shaped factory units- and for it to look good! This pioneer‘s build showcases some of the most impressive utilization of landscape, building on the huge rocky cliff edges found in the starting desert biome. Most players are quick to plaster the natural world in concrete, flattening out the landscape before building upwards and outwards. This build shows that some creative manipulation of the terrain can make for some really gorgeous factories.

If you’d seen this screenshot out of context, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s from Cities Skylines 2 or some other city-building simulator. But no, this cityscape was built in none other than Satisfactory. Complete with sidewalks, marked roads, skyscrapers, and decorated rooftops, this pioneer really has taken factory-building to the next level. They boast 6000 hours in the game and promises that this factory was made with zero mods. Are we even playing the same game…where’s he keeping those Assemblers?!

Scrolling through the Satisfactory Reddit or Discord takes a certain strength of character. Your building skills are thrown into doubt and your conveyor belt layouts are put to shame. One thing’s for certain though: Satisfactory players are some of the most creative and innovative builders out there – I know I’m taking inspiration!
