Samsung will convert its entire global manufacturing network into autonomous, AI-powered facilities by 2030. The company announced the strategy on February 28, extending its consumer AI capabilities to the factory floor. The initiative utilizes “agentic AI” for autonomous decision-making across the full manufacturing value chain. Samsung will deploy specialized agents for quality control, production optimization, and logistics coordination. Digital twin simulations will model factory operations before physical changes are made.
The strategy represents a major industrial AI commitment. It aims to build environments where AI independently executes optimal decisions. Samsung plans to phase in humanoid and task-specialized robots across production lines. These include robots for line management, material transport, and precision assembly. The company will also deploy robots to monitor hazardous environments.
“This next phase of manufacturing innovation lies in building autonomous environments where AI truly understands operational contexts in real time and independently executes optimal decisions,” said YoungSoo Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Technology Research at Samsung Electronics.
The factory transformation builds on an existing collaboration with Nvidia. Samsung announced that partnership in October 2025. The company plans to deploy more than 50,000 Nvidia GPUs. It will leverage the Nvidia Omniverse platform for digital twin infrastructure. Samsung is also using Nvidia’s Jetson Thor platform to advance real-time AI reasoning in its robotics systems.
Samsung will showcase this industrial AI strategy at Mobile World Congress 2026. The event runs March 2-5 in Barcelona. The company will demonstrate how AI agents and digital twin simulations work together in manufacturing. At the Mobile Business Summit, Samsung will present a governance framework for responsible AI expansion.
Samsung Electronics manufactures consumer electronics, semiconductors, and mobile devices. The company operates a global network of production facilities. MWC 2026 takes place at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. The Mobile Business Summit is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
