Reddit overtakes X as UK’s fastest-growing social media platform

Reddit has become the fastest-growing large social media platform in the United Kingdom, overtaking X, according to new data. The Ofcom Online Nation report reveals that Brits are turning away from Elon Musk’s social media platform as its average monthly adult reach continues to decline.

Research from the UK’s communications regulator indicates that the number of people visiting the site dropped from 27.9 million in 2021 to 26.5 million in 2022 and further to 23.8 million in 2023. The monthly average for 2024, up to August, was 22.2 million—a decrease of 1.6 million adult visitors compared to the previous year.
