As we mentioned on Saturday, this is the final week of our public domain game jam, Gaming Like It’s 1929! The clock is ticking, and now there’s just barely more than two days left to get your entries in. The jam closes at this Friday, January 31st, when the clock hits midnight Pacific Time.
We’re anticipating a flood of entries to join those we’ve already received, and we hope yours will be among them! Even if you’ve only got a few free hours between now and the deadline, that’s enough time to fire up a tool like Twine or Story Synth — or just a blank text document — and put together a simple digital or analog game. And there’s nothing wrong with simple: some of the most creative entries we’ve seen have made elegant use of very little to do a whole lot.
We’ll be back this Saturday after the jam has closed for a quick look at the entries we receive, then our judging process will begin and, after a month or so (depending on just how many entries come in), we’ll announce the winners in six categories. So please head on over to the game jam page on Itch to read the full rules and sign up, then stay tuned for the results of Gaming Like It’s 1929!
