Completing Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is no mean feat with hundreds of bosses to take on, never mind actually navigating through the twists and turns of the sprawling open-world environment in order to get to them.
While you may be accustomed to FromSoftware’s mechanics by now, especially if you’ve played any of the Souls series, the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree is one of the most difficult enemies around.
However, with Patch 1.14, the latest patch for Elden Ring, the DLC’s final boss has been nerfed, giving those who succumbed to its challenge another shot at victory.
Promised Consort Radahn is the name of this behemoth and many were taken off guard as to how fast and frantic the battle was, in conjunction with the sheer amount of damage taken, even being at a high level.
Here are all of the changes that have been made, directly from the patch notes:
This will vastly change the battle no matter your skill level, definitely for the better.
Those who did prevail before these changes have been taking to social media platforms to let everyone know they were able to beat the ‘real deal’.
X user Darklor72421326 comically stated that they “can’t wait” to tell their future kids about the time they “cleared pre-Nerf Radahn (DLC) 6 times”.
Again on X, Siggyv gave a tongue-in-cheek response to the patch suggesting that those who complete the DLC “from this day forward [are] now known as a Mickey mouse player.”
Whether you’re jumping into the fight for the first time or are one of those returning players looking for vengeance, Radahn will still be challenging.
It’s just that some of the ‘unfair’ mechanics have been toned down slightly to accommodate the masses.
