Netflix has increased prices for its subscription tiers and add-on viewer options, the company confirmed.
The price adjustments reflect Netflix’s continuous investment in content and service quality, impacting subscriber costs across multiple plans. The ad-supported plan now costs $8.99 per month, an increase from $7.99. The standard ad-free plan rose to $19.99 per month from $17.99.
The premium plan increased to $26.99 per month, up from $24.99. Each of these plans saw a $2 monthly price hike. Adding an extra viewer to an ad-supported plan costs $6.99, down from $7.99. For ad-free plans, an additional viewer now costs $9.99, an increase from $8.99.
Netflix told TechCrunch the changes aim to reflect improvements to its “wide range of entertainment” and service quality. Android Authority first reported the price increases.
New subscribers applying on or after March 26 will see the updated prices immediately. Existing subscribers will receive email notifications one month before the new pricing applies to their accounts, with rollout occurring in the coming months.
The company last raised prices in January 2025. Recent platform additions include video podcasts and expanded livestreaming content. Netflix also announced plans to revamp its mobile application and enhance its short-form video feature.
These price increases follow Netflix’s decision last month not to counter a superior bid for Warner Bros. Discovery’s assets.
