The baseball team, the St Louis Cardinals, has announced an all-new marketing partnership with sports betting operator bet365.

The agreement, which was announced on Monday (March 24), means bet365 will become the first-ever official mobile sports betting partner of the team.

The multi-year deal includes advertising rights on the Cardinals radio broadcasts, Cardinals Insider TV show, cardinals.com, and signage at the ballpark that will be visible on TV broadcasts. The use of the team logo and sponsorship of the team’s starting lineups at Busch Stadium will be included too.

“bet365 is proud to announce our partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals, one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball. We are excited to bring a world class mobile sports betting experience to the Show-Me-State,” a bet365 spokesperson said in a press release.

The partnership will also allow the sports betting operator to receive naming rights to the all-inclusive bet365 Bridge located on the second level in right-centerfield.

This is a ticketed outdoor seating deck area that includes an all-inclusive menu featuring ballpark fare, as well as complimentary drinks.

“We are thrilled to welcome bet365 as the club’s official mobile sports betting partner,” said Bill DeWitt III, President of the St. Louis Cardinals. “This partnership adds a new and exciting element to the fan experience which can be activated at Busch Stadium or any place that fans watch and follow Cardinals baseball.”

This comes after Missouri locals narrowly voted to legalize sports betting in the state with the passing of Amendment 2 last November. Since then, the Missouri Gaming Commission has already awarded licenses to brands like Draft Kings and Fan Duel with initial hopes they could launch in the summer, around June time.

Now, however, several developments have delayed the plans including confusion around the bill’s wording. Now, it’s thought the potential launch of sports betting in the state will be pushed back further.
