A Shinichirō Watanabe production wouldn’t be complete without an absolute banger of a soundtrack, and his upcoming Adult Swim series Lazarus is no exception.
Ahead of Lazarus’s premiere on April 5th, Adult Swim has released three singles from multi-instrumentalist / composer Kamasi Washington, British DJ Bonobo, and producer Floating Points that each come from different full-length soundtracks the musicians created for the new series.
Though Washington’s “Vortex” — a jazzy, chaotic number that evokes the sense of falling — serves as Lazarus’ main theme, Bonobo’s “Dark Will Fall (feat. Jacob Lusk)” and Floating Points’ “Dexion” both give you an idea of the futuristic and imperiled world Watanabe has imagined for his latest project.
While all three artist’s individual soundtracks are slated to release on April 11th, the first singles are currently available on every major streaming platform. And if the songs are any indication, Lazarus is going to be a knockout when it premieres next month.
