This is the second time that the Democrat has voiced her opinion about cryptocurrency, with the first being during a Wall Street fundraiser last Sunday (September 22) where she pledged to promote investment in artificial intelligence and digital assets.
Kamala Harris states her stance on blockchainAccording to Bloomberg, she told the fundraiser: “We will partner together to invest in America’s competitiveness, to invest in America’s future. We will encourage innovative technologies like AI and digital assets while protecting our consumers and investors.”
She added: “We will create a safe business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road.”
The policy is part of what she has billed as an agenda for an “opportunity economy,” in which she hopes to create a “safe business environment with consistent and transparent rules of the road.”
While Harris’ has only spoken about digital currency twice, there are several more public appearances ahead of the presidential election in November.
On the other hand, her competitor Donald Trump has led with cryptocurrency in numerous talks and has made it a key theme throughout his running.
Earlier in the month, on September 5, he spoke at the Economic Club of New York where he said: “…instead of attacking industries of the future, we’ll embrace them, making America the world capital for crypto and Bitcoin.”
He also pledged to “eliminate a minimum of 10 old regulations for every one new regulation” and suggested this could be done “quite easily.”
