Infosys turns Formula E stats into a chatty AI companion

Infosys and Formula E are teaming up to boost fan engagement with the new AI-powered Stats Center, launching April 2, 2025. This collaboration leverages Infosys Topaz to deliver data-driven insights and interactive experiences for Formula E enthusiasts.

The Stats Center provides interactive access to driver and team performance data, key milestones, and narratives through its Key Stats and Insights platform. A trending bubble chat format highlights stats across current and past seasons, prompting curated questions to deepen fan engagement.

Key features include:

  • Key stat cards: Dynamic cards that adapt based on the season’s timeline, highlighting race stats and providing insights into past and upcoming racetracks.
  • Key insights: AI-powered human-like text summarizations trained on grounded knowledge bases containing information about past seasons, races, and drivers. This delivers accurate and relevant content, replacing the manual editing of race summaries.
  • AI companion: A simple interface that educates users about various milestones and stats across the Formula E season, enabling fans to prompt unique questions and access key summaries or insights.

Infosys facilitated the migration of Formula E’s central datalake to Google Cloud, which established a secure, scalable architecture supporting Formula E’s marketing, business intelligence, and sporting operations.

Formula E’s Season 11 will introduce the GEN3 Evo, an electric racing technology capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 1.82 seconds, 30% faster than current Formula 1 cars.

Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, stated the company is thrilled to offer fans a new and engaging way to connect with the sport. The company showcases how innovation and technology can elevate the experience for everyone who loves Formula E, by making race data more accessible and easier to understand, Dodds stated.

Sumit Virmani, EVP & Global Chief Marketing Officer, Infosys, said that their partnership with Formula E proves how technology can revolutionize fan engagement. The AI-powered Stats Center, fueled by Infosys Topaz, transforms raw data into compelling narratives, offering fans an immersive journey through driver and team performance, Virmani stated.
