Since Black Myth: Wukong is a Soulslike game, a lot of you out there will want to utilize the skills you’ve gained from playing similar titles to make your playthrough as smooth as possible.
Parrying is one mechanic that you’ll likely want to take advantage of, especially against those tougher bosses, hopefully keeping your death count low.
However, it’s not made clear off the bat how to parry in Black Myth: Wukong so here, we’ll reveal what you need to do to utilize this defensive tool.
Black Myth: Wukong parry – How to get the Rock Solid spellWhen you begin your journey in Black Myth: Wukong, you’re taught a bunch of different mechanics to get you by.
However, parrying is not one of them and that’s because it’s not something you have, it’s something you learn – a spell.
This is called the Rock Solid spell and to get it, you’ll have to progress through the game a little.
You will receive the Rock Solid spell in Chapter 2 from the headless bard after beating the Tiger Vanguard boss in the Crouching Tiger Temple. This is a mandatory boss so technically you can’t miss the chance to learn the parry spell.
You’ll then need to equip and use it but since it is an Alteration spell, you will have to sacrifice another in that slot such as Cloud Step, so keep that in mind.
One other thing to note is that since it is a spell it costs 30 Mana to use and has a cooldown of 15 seconds, meaning you can’t exactly spam it and instead, you’ll have to use parrying somewhat sparingly.
It can be upgraded though, with perks such as Rapid Return and Rock Mastery which allow the spell to be canceled when you like as well as reducing the cooldown, benefitting its usage greatly.
