Farming Simulator 25: Thrustmaster launches SimTask FarmStick X to make controlling all that heavy machinery a bit less of a chore
We have plenty of steering wheels for car racing games, joysticks, and throttles for flight sims, but Farming Simulator, despite being hugely popular the world over, has a lot fewer options when it comes to bespoke gear for your farming needs.
This generally leaves us lumbered with combinations of keyboards or trying to make other gear work as best it can.
Thrustmaster has long supported the genre though and with the launch of the new SimTask FarmStick X, a controller not afraid to put capital letters in the middle of words, that continues.
The FarmStick X is the next model in line from last year’s FarmStick and now features Hall Effect technology meaning your combine harvesters should not veer off to the left for no reason like a huge yellow supermarket trolley.
Compatible with both Xbox and PC the controller has 33 customizable buttons and is suited for heavy machinery use, but if that’s not enough the is a Combo button that lets you, well, combine multiple inputs to a single button press.
The most appealing aspect here though is that, if you cannot be bothered setting it all up, it comes pre-assigned with controls Farming Simulator 25 with Thrustmaster promising plug-and-play compatibility out of the box.
You can also add some of Thrustmaster’s other gear to the mix to give you the complete Farming Simulator setup. Use the SimTask FarmStick X in conjunction with a T128 or T248 racing wheel and a SimTask Steering Kit (all sold separately) for total control, and an immersive experience simulating the driver’s cabin from farming or construction machinery.
Now for the price, how much do you have to love Farming Simulator to jump on board? Well it’s not that bad actually, coming in at $129.99 / £99.99, which is around about £20 more than the original model.
