Can you respec in Metaphor: Refantazio?

DATE POSTED:October 11, 2024

Since Metaphor: Refantazio has a leveling system in place where you can assign stat points to different areas, many are wondering if there is a respec option if they choose the wrong ones at the time.

Here, we’ll detail all we know about a respec function in Metaphor: Refantazio so you’re fully aware as to if the stat point decisions you make are final.

Metaphor: Refantazio respec explained

If you played some of the Metaphor: Refantazio demo, you’ll know that a respec option was not included, much to the surprise of most.

Sadly, this has translated to the full game too, and you will not be able to respec or reset your stats at any point in the game.

This is pretty frustrating for those who want to change up their builds later in the game, maybe for more variety, or if they’ve made a mistake in the choice that was made.

However, since there are also Archetypes in the game, these do have an effect on certain stats, potentially changing up your strengths.

Archetypes can be upgraded too, having even more influence, so you can utilize these to switch things up quite a lot, especially when maxed out.

One saving grace to the no respec option in the game is the fact you can actually just save your stat points up for use at a later time.

This gives you a bit of wiggle room, allowing for more thought to go into it instead of just diving right in and making the decision, hopefully avoiding any errors that you could made by being under the cosh.

If the above information has made things a little clearer for your playthrough of Metaphor: Refantazio, take a look at our other guides on all playable characters, if it is on Game Pass, how long the full experience is, and voice actors.
