If you’ve collected any cards before, whether that be physical or digital, there’s one thing for certain – you’re looking to chase the rarest one available.
With Pokemon TCG Pocket, this is no different and just like the regular variant of the card game, there are tiers of card rarity.
However, these are implemented a little differently, confusing new players and veterans alike.
Here, we’ll take a look at all of the Pokemon TCG Pocket card rarities, shedding some light on the differences and how hard they are to pull.
Pokemon TCG Pocket rarity system explainedThere are eight card rarity tiers in Pokemon TCG Pocket which translate somewhat to the usual rarities of the physical game.
They are named differently though, shaking off the traditional Common, Uncommon, Rare, etc. for a pure icon system that makes things a little easier to understand at a glance.

As you would expect, cards in the latter rarities are really tough to obtain akin to the likes of Special Illustration Rares and Hyper Rares in the physical game.
Thankfully, we’re actually given the specific percentages for the card drop rates and even the changes for each card in the pack.
Here is what you can expect:
Rarity Drop Percentage 1 Diamond Cards 1-3 – 100%, Card 4 – 0%, Card 5 – 0% 2 Diamond Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 90%, Card 5 – 60% 3 Diamond Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 5%, Card 5 – 20% 4 Diamond Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 1.666%, Card 5 – 6.664% 1 Star Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 2.572%, Card 5 – 10.288% 2 Star Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 0.5%, Card 5 – 2% 3 Star (Immersive Arts) Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 0.222%, Card 5 – 0.888% Crown Cards 1-3 – 0%, Card 4 – 0.04%, Card 5 – 0.16%Crown rarity cards, as you can see, are extremely hard to get with a very low percentage chance.
This chance does increase dramatically if you were to pull a Rare Pack but these, again, are a tough find.
If you’re chasing a specific rare card, there is hope rather than just trying your luck with packs.
You can utilize the Pack Points system or even Wonder Picks as the former allows you to literally pick the card you want if you have enough points, and the latter shortens the odds, if the required card is in the Pick that is.
