Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform Wix has debuted a suite of financial services offering for businesses.

Wix Checking and Wix Capital, announced Monday (Aug. 4), are designed to help businesses manage cash flow and fund growth.

“With Wix Checking and Wix Capital, we’re giving users a complete financial solution built into the platform they already use,” Amit Sagiv and Volodymyr Tsukur, co-heads of Wix Payments, said in a news release. “It’s fast, simple, and designed to help small businesses access their money and fuel growth — all in one place.”

Wix Checking, the release added, uses Unit’s embedded finance solution and gives customers a business checking account integrated within the Wix platform at no extra cost. Syncing automatically with Wix Payments, the checking tool “removes the need for external banking tools and manual reconciliations, saving time and reducing errors,” the company said.

Wix Capital, meanwhile, is a merchant cash advance service aimed at helping businesses address at a time when many small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are having trouble securing funding through traditional banks.

“Financial institutions have traditionally struggled to serve SMBs for several reasons,” PYMNTS wrote earlier this year. “Unlike consumers, SMBs have highly varied business models, cash flow patterns and credit profiles. Unlike large enterprises, they lack dedicated finance teams or the volume to justify custom solutions. This ‘messy middle’ left them in a no-man’s land — too complex for retail, too small for corporate.”

As the macroeconomic backdrop changes, this middle ground could prove fatal for small businesses, that report continued, with research by PYMNTS Intelligence showing that 20% of SMBs without access to financing worry they may not survive ongoing tariff-driven cost increases.

“These businesses, often viewed as the backbone of the U.S. economy, are being squeezed between the rising cost of goods and limited financial buffers, highlighting systemic weaknesses in capital accessibility across the sector,” PYMNTS added.

The data also showed that just 44% of SMBs had any sort of access to external financing, whether that comes from bank loans, lines of credit or alternative lending. The other 56% depend chiefly on operational cash flow or personal capital to finance day-to-day operations.

“This divide is particularly troubling when considered alongside macroeconomic trends,” the report added.
