What are the odds for the F1 Silverstone Grand Prix?

DATE POSTED:July 2, 2025
A photograph of a sleek Formula 1 car speeding along a modern racetrack under a slightly overcast sky. The car is painted a matte silver color with no visible branding or sponsor logos, emphasizing its minimalist design. The car is positioned on a slight curve of the track, kicking up a spray of gravel as it navigates the turn; the background features blurred grandstands adorned with the British flag waving gently. Soft, diffused lighting highlights the car's aerodynamic contours and creates a sense of speed and motion.

Formula 1 is returning to its home this weekend, as the Silverstone Grand Prix kicks off its 4-day F1 festival on July 3.

With five drivers on track calling this their home race (Hamilton, Norris, Russell, Bearman, and Albon), each one will be preparing to impress and secure a win on Sunday. It’s a place where seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has seen great success, with the Stevenage man winning in 2024 amidst an up-and-down year.

In 2023, the Dutch Max Verstappen won the position of P1. In 2022, Carlos Sainz won, and in 2021 Lewis Hamilton was the winner. Hamilton won it the year before too.

This time around, all eyes will be on the McLaren drivers as there are just 15 points between the top two in the driver standings.

There are another 13 races to go before the season ends in Abu Dhabi in December. This is where the 2025 champion will be known, with neither Norris or Piastri having won this title yet.

Max Verstappen has been the F1 world champion for the last four years, with his first win coming during the very controversial last-lap decision by the FIA in 2021 against Hamilton.

Silverstone Grand Prix 2025: McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri top the odds

According to Oddschecker at the time of writing, the odds for Lando Norris to win the British Grand Prix is 7/4 while Oscar Piastri is at 9/5.

Max Verstappen follows with 5/1, then it’s George Russell at 12/1, Charles Leclerc at 18/1, and Lewis Hamilton at 22/1.

Historically, the Silverstone Grand Prix has been an exciting one with lots of track action. This has led to drivers bursting through the pack unexpectedly, making it a race full of unknowns.

The circuit has long been considered the home of the sport, with this being the location of the very first race which counted towards the Drivers’ champion. This inaugural race took place on May 13, 1950 and saw over 100,000 spectators crowd round to watch.
