Sea Arms Shopee and Monee With Google AI Tools

DATE POSTED:February 19, 2026

Global technology company Sea has partnered with Google to develop artificial intelligence-powered innovations for Sea’s core business lines, including online games company Garena, eCommerce platform Shopee, and financial services provider Monee.

This marks an expansion of an existing collaboration that includes Shopee’s participation in the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program and Garena’s partnership with Google on the Free Fire League on Google Play, the companies said in a Thursday (Feb. 19) press release.

In their expanded partnership, Garena and Google will explore using Google’s AI solutions to enhance gaming experiences and improve the productivity of game development and operations; Shopee and Google will explore building an agentic shopping prototype that can work across the companies’ platforms; and Monee and Google will collaborate on the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) and will explore piloting an agentic payment experience, according to the release.

“This partnership with Google on AI will drive innovation in the business application of the technology at scale, and allow us to make AI more accessible to the digitally underserved in our markets,” Sea Chairman and CEO Forrest Li said in the release.

Sanjay Gupta, president, Google Asia Pacific, said in the release: “Together, we are accelerating the adoption of this transformative technology and unlocking the immense economic potential of Southeast Asia’s digital landscape.”

Google introduced AP2 in September, saying the protocol was developed in tandem with payments and tech firms and is designed to “securely initiate and transact agent-led payments across platforms.”

According to the Thursday press release, Monee will provide expert feedback on AP2 “to ensure it is robust, secure and suitable for the diverse digital financial services landscape of Southeast Asia.”

Shopee announced its participation in the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program in December 2024, saying the partnership would connect YouTube creators and Shopee sellers to provide engaging content that would transform how YouTube viewers discover and shop for products.

The program enables YouTube creators to embed Shopee product links directly into their content and earn commissions. It also enables viewers to explore these items and then, with one click, go to Shopee to complete the checkout process.
