Slitherine and Starni Games World War II strategy-fest, Headquarters: World War II has just got its second pack of DLC following on from the successful Market Garden battle. This time the battle is the snow-covered Ardennes and Bastogne. If you have ever watched Band of Brothers you will be aware of this particular brutal episode in human history. Now you can replay it yourself until your heart is content.
The Ardennes DLC introduces a wealth of new content, tactical challenges, and historical depth which you can check out in more detail below, or have a quick peek at the trailer. Maybe it’s because we hear too much of it, but the voiceover sounds a bit AI. It may not be, but now even potentially real voiceover artists sound computer-generated. Here’s to the future eh?
The Ardennes DLC plunges players into the brutal winter of 1944, where the German army launched a desperate counteroffensive in the hopes of turning the tide of war. At the heart of this battle was the siege of Bastogne, where American forces, surrounded and outnumbered, famously responded to a German surrender demand with a single word: “NUTS!”
New Features & Content- Two New Campaigns – Players can command US or German forces across two different meticulously crafted campaigns inspired by historical events, testing their strategic skills in intense, asymmetric engagements. Each faction will face an 8-mission campaign (a total of 16 missions), with a unique and different point of view.
- New Units & Equipment – Fresh reinforcements, including powerful German armored divisions and determined American defenders, are introduced with historically accurate vehicles, infantry, and artillery. 12 additional units, including the American M26 Pershing, the British Sherman Firefly Tulip and the German Jagdpanzer IV.
- Challenging Winter Warfare – Harsh winter conditions impact movement and combat effectiveness, adding an extra layer of realism and tactical depth.
- Iconic Battles – Relive key moments like the Siege of Bastogne, the St. Vith Assault, and the Push for Celles.
