iOS 26 might quietly redefine how you text and drive

Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 is reportedly set to introduce a suite of enhancements across core applications including Messages, Music, Notes, and CarPlay, according to an exclusive report from 9to5Mac. The tech giant is widely expected to unveil these updates, alongside new versions of macOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC25) slated for June 9th.

Among the anticipated changes, the Messages app will reportedly gain AI-powered live translation capabilities for both incoming and outgoing texts. Furthermore, support for polls is said to be on the way, potentially leveraging Apple Intelligence to suggest poll structures based on the ongoing conversation’s context.

In the Music app, users may soon experience full-screen animated album art directly on the Lock Screen, a feature that would build upon the recently redesigned Now Playing view. The Notes app is also rumored to receive an upgrade, reportedly adding the ability to export notes in Markdown format.

CarPlay, Apple’s in-car interface, is not expected to be left behind, with reports suggesting a significant user interface overhaul. This redesign will purportedly align CarPlay’s aesthetics more closely with the overall design language anticipated for iOS 26.

As with all pre-release information, these features remain speculative until Apple’s official announcements at WWDC25.
