Investor’s Business Daily, publisher of in-depth financial news geared to personal and professional investors, recently announced a partnership with Mochila, a premium content syndication technology platform and network, to distribute IBD’s multimedia offerings to online readers who want up to the minute market information.
Using content from Investor’s Business Daily’s companion website, Investors.com, Mochila and Investor’s Business Daily are creating an investment management site section featuring regularly refreshed articles, photos and video. The program will kick off with 14 charter websites and is expected to grow to 40 over the course of the year-long deal.
Investor’s Business Daily is known for its proprietary stock screens, comparative performance ratings and has a record of identifying stock leaders as they emerge. IBD’s companion website, Investors.com, offers stock tools and research for investors of every level. These include the IBD University learning center, IBD TV market videos and audio interviews, intraday reports on market action and the IBD Stock Checkup.

Initially participating news websites include Tribune Company’s broadcast and newspaper sites, Scripp’s KitsapSun.com, based in Kitsap, Wash., and Spokane, Wash.’s independent Spokesman.com, the website of the Spokesman-Review. Also on board is Belo’s KVUE.com, based in Austin, Texas.
Pure-play websites have also embraced the Investor’s Business Daily financial section. Among those are Topix, which links news from 50,000 sources to 360,000 lively user-generated forums, and AnchorFree, a free Virtual Private Network service. Topix alone has averaged approximately 12.5 million uniques monthly according to Quantcast. AnchorFree counts 10 million uniques per month. Also hosting the Investor’s Business Daily section is Zimbio, a social networking site, which has 18 million uniques, and Gaebler, a Chicago-based business incubator, with 150,000 uniques, per Quantcast.
All told, the sites hosting the Investor’s Business Daily financial section boast a total of 100 million unqiues monthly and that figure is expected to rise to 150 million in coming months. Investor’s Business Daily’s sales force is expected to sell ad space, video ads, and custom sponsorships for the syndication program. Advertising revenue will be shared between the media partner, Mochila and Investor’s Business Daily.
