Huawei launches full U6GHz product suite at MWC 26

DATE POSTED:March 2, 2026
Huawei launches full U6GHz product suite at MWC 26

Huawei launched a full suite of U6GHz products and solutions at MWC Barcelona 2026 on Saturday, positioning the portfolio as a bridge between 5G-Advanced and 6G.

The new product line is now commercially available and targets the “mobile AI era.” The launch signals a significant step in the industry’s transition toward higher-frequency spectrum and increased network capacity.

The centerpiece of the announcement is a 256 TRX Active Antenna Unit. The unit employs an extremely large antenna array and digital-analog hybrid intelligent beamforming.

Huawei paired the antenna with a hyper-resolution MU-MIMO algorithm and 400 MHz of bandwidth. The company stated the unit delivers downlink capacity of 100 Gbps and uplink capacity exceeding 10 Gbps.

Per-user peak experiences reach 10 Gbps down and 1 Gbps up. The equipment is designed for both macro and micro site deployments.

Huawei introduced U6GHz small cell products for indoor environments. These products support the full 400 MHz bandwidth and coordinate across all sub-6 GHz bands.

The company also announced new microwave products using industry-unique full-duplex technology. These products aim to handle the high-bandwidth transmission demands of U6GHz base stations.

Countries including China, the UAE, and Brazil are advancing spectrum identification and allocation for U6GHz. These moves follow decisions made at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2023.

Huawei expects mainstream consumer devices compatible with U6GHz to reach the market in 2026. The company also upgraded its 5G-A mobile transport architecture ahead of the conference.

The new Mobile Backhaul Network architecture introduces 10GE/25GE links to cell sites. It adds L3 routing to the site and end-to-end SRv6 for differentiated experience assurance.

Huawei highlighted its Fiber Health Care solution. The solution uses built-in OTDR capabilities and self-diagnosis algorithms to detect fiber faults at 10-meter accuracy over distances up to 80 kilometers.

The company stated the solution achieves minute-level fiber break detection. It also improves fault location efficiency by 20 percent.

MWC Barcelona 2026 runs from March 2 through 5 under the theme “All Intelligence.” Huawei is among the major exhibitors showcasing next-generation network and computing technologies.
