Long gone are the days when we sat back and enjoyed our games. These days it is all about mainlining them as quickly as possible, leveling up super fast, and then complaining about the lack of content on Reddit and Steam reviews. God Bless the future.
Avowed, like many an RPG embraces leveling as a tool to help its pacing. You can’t just wander off into a high-level dangerous area as a noob and not expect to get whupped so sometimes, you will want to scale the levels as quickly as possible to you can get where you want to go.
So what’s the best way to climb the Avowed ranks without wasting any time? Here’s some sound advice.
Side Quests and BountiesSide Quests are always in games for more than an obvious reason. The devs don’t spend all that time carefully programming in missions where you have to go and get a letter from a guy in another town and bring it back to the original NPC because they want you to get the letter for him. If there’s one thing we have learned over the years is that NPCs are bone idle. They won’t fetch, they won’t carry, and if you didn’t stop to chat with them, well, then not much would ever get done around these parts.
For your benefit, however, side quests offer a chance to level up quickly by gaining experience that you are missing out on if you just choose to follow the main quest.
Not all side quests are created equal and some offer greater rewards than others, but they will also help to open up the map and fast Travel points so they have the extra bonus of not only gaining you XP but making your life easier later on in the game.
Bounties meanwhile are rarer but always worth accepting when offered. Even though they may take a little more work than many a side quest they yield both XP and equipment. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of them in the game at launch, so it’s always worth grabbing the opportunity when one comes along.
