Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues the series’ commitment to a realistic medieval world, where exploration plays a major role in your experience.
While the game emphasizes immersion and realism, there is still a fast travel system to help you move around more efficiently — though it comes with a few caveats.
Unlike traditional fast travel systems, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 adds depth and risk to utilizing it, maintaining the game’s signature realistic approach.
In this guide, we’ll explain exactly how fast travel works, how to unlock it, and what limitations you should be aware of.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 fast travel explainedFast travel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is unlocked as you explore and reveal more of the map.
As you venture through Bohemia, you will gradually uncover new locations, and along with them, you will unlock blue “shield” icons on the map, which act as fast travel points.
To fast travel, open the map and click on a blue shield icon to initiate travel to that location. Most settlements in the game have at least one fast travel point, making it easier to navigate between major hubs.
However, fast travel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 isn’t instantaneous — it comes with several realistic mechanics to keep the gameplay immersive.
First off, fast travel is only available outdoors. You cannot fast travel while inside buildings and if you attempt to do so, a warning will appear stating, “You can’t fast travel from this location.”
Next, fast traveling consumes resources. Just like in real life, fast traveling drains your stamina and nourishment, meaning you’ll still need to manage your food and fatigue to avoid exhaustion.
Finally, and by far the most unique part of fast travel, random events can occur. You may encounter ambushes, bandits, or even wolf attacks while traveling, forcing you to either engage in the event or attempt to continue your journey.
Later in the game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 expands into a second region, Kuttenberg, which is unlocked deeper into the main story.
At this point, you will gain the ability to fast travel between the original starting region, Trosky, and the new region, Kuttenberg.
To do this, look for the red carriage icon on the map — this represents the fast travel point between the two regions. In Kuttenberg, this icon is located west of Suchdol, and in Trosky, it is east of Troskowitz.
Using this inter-region fast travel option costs 200 Groschen per trip, so be sure to have enough currency before making the journey.
