Google brings NotebookLM to mobile with new standalone apps

DATE POSTED:May 20, 2025
Google brings NotebookLM to mobile with new standalone apps

Google has launched standalone NotebookLM apps for Android and iOS, allowing users to access its tool for understanding complex information on-the-go. The apps, available on the App Store and Play Store, include core features such as offline Audio Overviews, interaction with hosts, and sharing content directly to NotebookLM.

The NotebookLM app allows users to listen to Audio Overviews offline, making it possible to continue engaging with the content even without internet connectivity. This feature is particularly useful in areas with poor internet service or when users want to conserve cellular data. Users can also listen to Audio Overviews in the background, enabling multitasking.

The app also enables users to interact with hosts by tapping “Join” to ask questions or steer the discussion in a new direction. Additionally, users can share content from other apps directly to NotebookLM by selecting the NotebookLM option from the share icon. This feature supports various input types, with more to be added over time.

The NotebookLM app is designed to be accessible on all devices, catering to students, professionals, and individuals who work with large amounts of information. The app is compatible with iOS 17+ on iPhone and iPad, and Android 10+ on phones and tablets.

NotebookLM now makes AI podcasts in dozens of new languages

Users can provide feedback on the app through X or Google’s Discord server. The initial version of the app includes many of the core features of NotebookLM, with further refinements and features expected in the coming months.
