Sometimes the free games given away on Epic Games Store each week can be a little hit and miss and even though we should never look that gift horse in the mouth, sometimes we end up collecting them for collecting’s sake
As we start the final run towards the annual big Epic giveaway it’s nice to see that we are still getting some great free offerings before that, even in the middle of November.
Starting today (Thursday) for the next week you can snare yourself a free copy of Komani’s great Castlevania Anniversary Collection, which was released originally back in 2019, but good games remain classics throughout time.
The Castlevania Anniversary Collection traces the origins of the historic vampire franchise. Included is a unique eBook with details provided by developers, artists, and others inspired by the Castlevania legacy which sheds a fresh light into the world of Castlevania.
Castlevania is still mighty popular to this day, as proved by the recent Vampire Survivors Castlevania DLC that the game recently received.
Released as part of the Konami 50th Anniversary celebration, you can now relive these timeless classics that helped define the platformer genre back in the day. From the Belmont clan to their extended bloodlines and allies, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is “the best first step for anyone to take into the world of Castlevania and the fight against Dracula!”
The history of CastlevaniaThe Castlevania franchise, a monumental series that began with Konami’s release of the original game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1986, has since carved its way into gaming legend. Encapsulating the endless struggle between the Belmont family and Count Dracula, Castlevania was one of the first games to blend action platforming with gothic horror, immersing players in a world filled with iconic monsters, treacherous platforms, and a haunting soundtrack.
With entries across almost every gaming format, Castlevania has influenced countless titles and remains a cornerstone of retro gaming culture. Its evolution from 8-bit to modern systems, and even an animated series adaptation, attests to its lasting impact on gaming in general.
Included games in the Castlevania Anniversary CollectionThe Castlevania Anniversary Collection is available for free on the Epic Games Store between 14 and 21 November.
