Before this, FanDuel Predicts was only available in Alabama, Alaska, South Carolina, North Dakota and South Dakota.

According to an interactive tool on the website, the prediction market is available across 18 states for sports event contracts and other markets, with states including: Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Utah.

Furthermore, FanDuel Predicts has also gone live in the three biggest states where there is no legal sports betting: California, Texas and Georgia. Florida’s only legal betting operator is Hard Rock Bet, but now FanDuel have launched its prediction market there too.

FanDuel Predicts eyes further expansion

FanDuel is certainly playing catch-up compared to rivals DraftKings, who are available across 38 states, 20 more than FanDuel presently.

The company announced a partnership with CME Group in November 2025, which saw FanDuel Predicts go live a month later.

“We’re giving our customers a new platform to engage with the world around them – whether  that’s the next Fed rate decision or a sports event,” said James Cooper, Senior Vice President,  Flywheel and New Ventures at FanDuel.

“This launch in five states will provide valuable insights  into customer engagement with this new platform, enabling us to refine our approach as we  expand to additional states in 2026.”

At the moment, sports-related contracts that are available cover the likes of baseball, basketball, ice hockey and football across the 18 states listed earlier.

However, these will be discontinued should any state eventually legalizes sports betting in the future.

While the company trials DraftKings in terms of the number of states its prediction market is available in, the goal will be to add many more in 2026.
