Dell’s 27-inch 1440p IPS monitor is terrific, especially for $160

While Dell makes some big, bombastic gaming displays and top-of-the-line monitors for creative pros, most people I know look to Dell for affordable and solid screens. Today’s deal delivers on that, with a 27-inch monitor and a high-quality IPS panel for just $159.99 at Office Depot. That’s $60 off the original retail price.

The Dell S2725DS is a fairly straightforward design, without any gaming features or a curved panel. But its 2560×1440 resolution is a big step up from what you usually get in this price range, plus the IPS screen has much better color accuracy than the usual VA panels on budget monitors. (I personally use a similar Dell display in my own home office to make sure colors are right in Photoshop.)

Note that this monitor is HDMI only and doesn’t have any USB extras, but it is compatible with VESA monitor arms. That makes it a great add-on display if you have a multi-monitor workstation setup.

Also note that it’s available for local pickup, at least in some Office Depot and Office Max stores, which is a rare treat for a discounted monitor. Otherwise, grab it online and snag this deal while you can.
