Crunchyroll announced a $2 monthly price increase for all its anime streaming plans. The Fan tier now costs $10 per month, the Mega Fan tier $14 per month, and the Ultimate Fan tier $18 per month.
The Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan tiers launched in 2020. These higher tiers enabled subscribers to download anime episodes for offline viewing, addressing a key demand from users who needed access without constant internet connectivity.
Previously limited to premium tiers, offline viewing now extends to the Fan tier under the new pricing structure. Fan subscribers receive this feature restricted to a single device, allowing downloads on one mobile or tablet for on-the-go consumption.
Crunchyroll introduced a promotional annual subscription for the Fan tier to accompany the changes. This limited-time offer provides 12 months of access for $67, reducing the effective monthly rate compared to the standard $10 billing.
The price adjustments apply across all plans amid ongoing rises in streaming service costs. Anime enthusiasts using Crunchyroll’s platform will encounter these updated rates upon renewal or new sign-ups.
