Cities Skylines 2 has just released two new creator packs: Urban Promenades and Modern Architecture. These community creator-made packs were designed to “capture the essence of city living” and bring “cutting edge aesthetics” to your cities, and retail for $7.99 each.
Since its release in October 2023, the hotly anticipated Cities Skylines 2 has received some mixed reviews, with some criticizing it for its gameplay and performance issues. Its first major expansion, Beach Properties DLC, was a huge disappointment which was quickly removed as a purchasable pack, and instead added as a free addition to the game.
Modern Architecture Creator PackDesigned by community creator Richard Shi, this pack brings an “array of top-tier service buildings and facilities for both residents and tourists”. Players can transform their streets with “sleek, state-of-the-art designs”, with each building coming with multiple upgrade options to bring diversity to your city’s aesthetics. New buildings include:
Designed by Feindbold, this pack complements the Modern Architecture pack by bringing even more urban, city-living-themed buildings to your game. It brings 60-mixed housing zone assets and introduces bustling community spaces with bigger sidewalks, trees, and other urban décor. It also brings some new service buildings:
Though scheduled to arrive in Fall 2024, the game’s console launch was postponed “indefinitely” in the summer. Given its performance and gameplay issues on PC, it seems that Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive are taking care to make sure their console launch fares better…if they ever release it on console at all.
