Buenos Aires calls for bids for the modernization of seven casinos

A call has been made for bids to modernize seven casinos in Buenos Aires to boost ‘competitiveness’.

Argentina’s province of Buenos Aires has called for bids to modernize seven casinos across the region, located in Necochea, Miramar, Tandil, Sasso, Hermitage, Mar de Ajo and Sierra de la Ventana. The president of the Provincial Lottery and Casino Institute, Gonzalo Atanasof, signed a resolution to promte the call-out.

Up until now, the casinos had been operating with an extension on their concessions but are now seeking to invest in key construction improvements to improve both the modern appeal and competitiveness of the casinos.

“This is a fundamental step for the modernization and competitiveness of the province’s casinos, based on a commitment made jointly with the province,” stated Atanasof, as reported by interGame Online. “We not only seek to guarantee the continuity of workers and improve their working conditions, but also to make investments that help capitalise on the tourism and entertainment potential of each casino.”

Bidders are encouraged to submit ideas for building work that would modernize the casino rooms, improve slot machine experiences, and maximize tourist-friendly entertainment in the area. There’s a focus on year-round offerings for dining and leisure activities to boost potential for Buenos Aires.

The work is expected to take place across the next 20 years, with the possibility of extending for a year past that as well. Bidding envelopes will be opened at midday on July 8, at the headquarters of the Lottery and Casino Institute, offering the first idea of what changes can be made to the seven casinos.

The investment in improving the casino scene in Buenos Aires echoes efforts in other areas, such as Thailand and New York City. This comes as commercial casinos still reign supreme as the gambling moneymaker in the US>
