Apple is reportedly accelerating the development of three AI-powered wearable products. These devices include an AI pendant, AI-powered smart glasses, and AirPods with new AI capabilities. The information was reported by Bloomberg, following an earlier report from The Information.
The AI pendant is described as being AirTag-sized and featuring cameras. It can be pinned to a user’s shirt.
The smart glasses are code-named N50. They will include a high-resolution camera. Production is targeted to begin as early as December for a public release in 2027. Meta and Snap (which plans to release “Specs” this year) are also developing similar products in this market. The glasses are characterized as “more upscale and feature-rich” compared to the AI pendant and AirPods.
All three items are designed for connection to the iPhone. Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, will be a central component of the user experience for these wearables.
