Apple’s AI catch-up plan now seems to rely heavily on third-party devs

Apple’s AI catch-up plan now seems to rely heavily on third-party devs

Apple is set to unveil a new set of AI products and frameworks at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, allowing third-party developers to build software using Apple AI models, according to a Bloomberg report. The move aims to draw more attention and users to Apple’s AI technology as it seeks to catch up with competitors.

The new framework will enable developers to integrate Apple Intelligence across their apps, with the company initially allowing the use of its smaller AI models. This expansion of Apple’s AI capabilities is expected to enhance the overall user experience and provide developers with more tools to create innovative applications.

WWDC 2025 is also expected to feature a significant overhaul of Apple’s operating systems across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. New device-specific capabilities will be introduced, including a feature to help manage battery life.

A new Health app, powered by AI, is also on the horizon, although it is not expected to be ready until next year. The integration of AI into various Apple services and products is part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance its offerings and stay competitive in the tech industry.
