Amazon has scheduled its annual fall hardware event for Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in New York City, where it is expected to announce new Echo smart speakers, Fire TV devices, and Kindles.
The event marks the first major hardware showcase under the direction of Panos Panay, the former Microsoft executive who took over Amazon’s Devices & Services division in late 2023.
Invitation hints at new Kindle and Echo devicesThe invitation sent to the media includes visual clues that point to specific product updates. These hints align with comments from Amazon CEO Andy Jassy earlier this year, who stated the company would release “beautiful new hardware” in the fall.
Since Panay’s arrival, Amazon’s hardware releases have been more subdued. In October 2024, the company held a small event focused only on Kindle updates. Throughout 2024, other devices like the Echo Show 21 and a new mini LED Fire TV were released in phased rollouts rather than at a single large event.
In February 2025, Panay hosted an event that revealed no new hardware, focusing instead on the relaunch of Alexa Plus, an enhanced version of the voice assistant powered by generative AI.
This upcoming event suggests a return to a major, consolidated hardware launch. Any new products announced would be the first fully developed under Panay’s leadership since he joined the company.
