Acer’s new dual-screen foldable PD3 monitors let you take your perfect gaming setup up on vacation with you

I love my Steam Deck and it goes everywhere with me – literally everywhere, but sometimes, when I am away from my home setup for a while I start to pine for a bigger screen to game on. Now sure, if I am in a hotel I could potentially hook it up to the TV in the room but what if I need things to be even more portable? Well Acer’s latest monitor announcement could solve than and a host of other problems for people who need a portable monitor in their lives.

There are plenty of uses for portable monitors – on the go photography and videography are just two that leap to mind but when you do this sort of thing, one of the constants most people have is a dual screen set-up for that extra pixel real-estate.

Acer has moved to solve that issue in the portable monitor arena by unveiling its innovative new PD3 dual-screen folding portable monitors and they look super cool.

Coming in two different flavors – a 15.6 inch (currently $249.99) and and 18.5 inch ($449.99), the PD3 Series is equipped with Acer VisionCare technology, which incorporates several features specifically designed for prolonged use by demanding users such as programmers, writers and graphic designers.

Connection to the IPS display panels is either by HDMI or USB C, and the smaller of the two models is just 2.4cm thick and weighs just 1.55kg. For context this is around the same weight as a Steam Deck itself.

Acer’s PD3 combines both screens to provide a 2160×1080 FHD resolution and the screens can be switched between landscape and portrait easily using the automatic pivot feature which transitions between modes “by simply adjusting the angle of the screens.”

The final icing on the cake is the 178 degree viewing angle because of the IPS panels and you can take a closer look at what they offer on Acer’s site.
