We have been lucky enough to get our hands on some of the best GameSir tech the controller manufacturer has to offer here at ReadWrite Gaming over the last year, and the announcement of its new Cyclone 2 controller has got us looking forward to playing with what the company is billing as “offering the ultimate gaming controller solution for players seeking precision, durability, and immersive gameplay across multiple platforms.”
That’s me, that’s me. And while we will be doing a full review shortly on Cyclone 2, for now, the news is out in the wild and you may well want to add one of these onto your Christmas list.
Of late we have covered the issue of stick drift on Nintendo’s Joy-Cons and the PlayStation’s DualSense and we all know what a pain it can be. GameSir is at least attempting to mitigate problems further down the line by once again utilizing its magnificent Mag-Res TMR sticks which combine the precision of traditional potentiometer sticks with the durability of Hall Effect technology.
The controller also includes “Esports-grade performance is also guaranteed through the micro switch face buttons, which provide clicky, tactile feedback with an impressive lifespan of up to 5 million presses.”
Obviously, it also has RGB built-in as well as a long-lasting battery (and an optional stand/charging dock to complete the package).
We can already (spoiler alert) say it feels great in the hand and just popping it back on its stand at the end of play makes sure it’s ready for next time and also helps add a little tidiness to my disgrace of a desk.
Watch out for our review of the Cyclone 2 from GameSir soon.
